An Enchanted Evening at Chapel Hill

Posted on Aug 19, 2008

The evening will start with a “getting to know you” pre-show social hour at 5:30 P.M. Wine pouring from local wineries, other beverages and bottled water as well as hors d’oeuvre appetizers and snacks will be available during the pre-show social hour. Proceeds will benefit the restoration of Mission San Miguel and the program series of the New World Baroque Orchestra.

This gala event is sponsored by the Clark Family and the New World Baroque Orchestra. This is the one concert of the year when musical director John Warren lets the performers of the New World Baroque let their classical hair down so to speak and show case their talents, performing a wide variety of musical selections, from classical offerings to Gilbert and Sullivan and Broadway show tunes.

Performers will include vocalists Katie Bravante, Kristie Dart, Margaret Montgomery, Darla Kwiatkowski and gifted 11 year old Sophia Emmons, as well as other talented soloists including violinist Rosemarie Nikolakakis, violist Bryson McKelvey, and horn players John Edwards and Myron Deale. Master of Ceremonies Jim Brescia, and musicians and singers from St. Rose Church in Paso Robles and the Mission San Miguel choir as well as members of the New World Baroque Orchestra will round-out the musical entourage.
Admission is $15.00 for individuals, $25.00 for families. Tickets are available at the Mission San Miguel Parish Office and Gift Shop, St. Rose Church Office, the Paso Robles and Atascadero Chambers of Commerce, or at the door.

The Chapel may be reached by traveling 17 mi. east of Paso Robles on Hwy. 46, turning left on McMillan Road just before reaching Shandon and following the signs about 1-1/4 mi. to the parking area. Shuttle buses will be available to take guests up to the Chapel. For more Concert information, please call (805) 467-2131 or (805) 239-3022, or visit: www.newworldbaroque.org .

Don’t miss this festive musical event! Come and share a charming and enchanted musical evening under the stars and a full moon at Chapel Hill with your family and friends and help to keep the historical music programs of the San Luis Obispo Early Music Consortium’s New World Baroque Orchestra going as well as help to restore Mission San Miguel as a spiritual and historical center of our community life now and for generations to come.
